User accounts
A user's profile is where you manage one person's account. It opens on the Overview tab and has Security, Devices and Activity tabs. From here you edit their details, manage their sign-in security, review the devices they connect from and close the account.
Before you start — Open the person first: from Users, use the Search tab and click their name or View. See Users.
Edit a user's identity
- Open the user. On the Overview tab, in the Identity card, click Edit.
- On Identity, update the Name, Email and Phone.
- Click Save.
Note — Each account uses a distinct email address; you can't reuse one that already belongs to another account.
Verify a user's email
Marking an email as verified confirms it in the back office. No message is sent to the user.
- Open the user and go to the Security tab.
- Next to the email address, click Verify e-mail.
- On Verify e-mail address, click Verify the e-mail.
The email is marked Verified.
Note — If the address is already verified, the page says so and there is nothing to confirm.
Verify a user's phone number
Marking a phone number as verified confirms it belongs to the user. It can be required to enable two-factor authentication by SMS. This does not send a code.
- Open the user and go to the Security tab.
- Next to the phone number, click Verify phone.
- On Verify phone number, click Verify phone.
The phone number is marked Verified.
Turn two-factor authentication on or off
With two-factor authentication on, a one-time code is asked at sign-in after the password.
- Open the user and go to the Security tab.
- Click Manage two-factor authentication.
- Under Choose how to receive the code, select Email or SMS, then click Enable.
To turn it off, open the same page and click Disable.
Note — A channel must be verified before you can use it for two-factor authentication. If it isn't, verify the email or phone first (see above), then come back.
Review devices and end a session
- Open the user and go to the Devices tab. It lists each device with its Status, Location, Session type and Connection.
- To sign the user out of a device, click Revoke on its row.
- On Close this session, click Close the session.
The session is revoked and the user is signed out from that device. The account stays active and the user can sign in again.
See a user's activity
Open the user and go to the Activity tab. It lists each recorded event with its Date, Status and Event.
Close a user's account
Closing hides the account from your lists and takes away access, without erasing anything. You can reopen it later.
- Open the user. On the Overview tab, in the Identity card, click Delete.
- On Close this account?, review the Name, Email, Role and Status, tick Confirm closure, then click Close account.
The account is hidden everywhere and loses access.
Note — This is reversible: the account stays recoverable and you can reopen it later.
